The website was created to keep of you up-to-date with the latest news about our book(s).  We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required while subscribing to our email or contact list, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Identifiable personal information may include, but is not limited to, your name and email address.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Web pages on this site and blog email updates may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) and contact details of third parties or links to third party websites.  Some of the webpages of the website also contain embedded objects such as YouTube videos and Instagram photographs.   • Analytics: We use website analytics to find out things such as the number and geolocation of visitors to the different webpages of the website. This data is aggregated and processed in such a way which does not identify anyone and therefore is not considered to be personal data in law. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of this application, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services.   • Blog Email Updates: When you subscribe to the blog mailing list you are consenting to receiving updates from the blog. You can unsubscribe from the blog at any time by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any blog email update or by contacting the owner.
  • Email Enquiries: When you send an email about the website, blog or this privacy notice, this is your consent for us to consider and respond to your enquiry We retain your email address for as long as you are a subscriber.

We use WPform as the email delivery provider which we use to collect and store the email addresses of subscribers to the blog and to deliver the blog updates to your email inboxes. Click here to see WPform’s Privacy Policy.

We may also share your personal data with other third parties where required by law or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so

  • Interaction with external social networks and platforms: Facebook Like button and social widgets, Pinterest “Pin it” button/widgets and Twitter Tweet button/social widget have their own Privacy Policies. We do not control these third-parties and are not responsible for their privacy statements or processing activities.
  • Plugin: Really Simple SSL and Really Simple SSL add-ons do not process any personal identifiable information, so the GDPR does not apply to these plugins or usage of these plugins on your website. You can find our privacy policy here.
  • Plugin: Akismet. This plugin is an anti-spam service. You can find their privacy policy here.
  • Plugin: Smush does not interact with end users on your website. The only input option Smush has is to a newsletter subscription for site admins only. Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers. Smush uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UA, referrer, Location and ISP info of site visitors for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath’s privacy policy can be found here. Smush uses a third-party email service (Drip) to send informational emails to the site administrator. The administrator’s email address is sent to Drip and a cookie is set by the service. Only administrator information is collected by Drip.

Who we share your data with

We only share your personal data as an essential part of being able to maintain the website and the blog, as set out in this privacy notice.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

There are various ways to manage data related preferences and to provide and withdraw consent, where relevant:

  • Users can manage preferences related to data from directly within their own device settings, for example, by preventing the use or storage of data.
